  • A study published this month in Nutrition & Metabolism talks about the effect of antioxidant supplementation on arterial elasticity, blood pressure, and glucose and lipid metabolism. An interesting read, although I’d be curious to know what the subjects’ diet consisted of.
  • Old stuff, but here is a great three-part series written by Regina Wilshire about low-carb and low-fat diets: part 1, part 2, part 3.
  • If you’re into cardio and are monitoring your heart rate (I admit that’s not a number I ever paid attention to), you might want to know that the current formula for calculating a woman’s maximum heart rate is incorrect, and the number should actually be lower.
